A Proven Conservative Leader
A trusted voice for Walker, Catoosa, and Whitfield Counties
State Representative
Steve Tarvin
Steve Tarvin is a lifelong conservative and a steady, trusted voice for Walker, Catoosa, and Whitfield counties in the State House. He represents these communities with common sense, fiscal discipline, and a firm commitment to the values that keep our part of Georgia strong.
Steve has earned a reputation as a principled conservative who believes government works best when it is limited, accountable, and close to the people. He is focused on protecting taxpayers, defending our freedoms, and standing up for families who work hard and expect government to do the same.
Born and raised in Chickamauga, Georgia, Steve learned the value of hard work, faith, and community service. A graduate of Gordon Lee High School, Steve attended the University of Georgia and built a successful career as a business owner and local leader.
Steve and his wife, Jennifer, are proud parents of two and grandparents to eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Their faith has long been central to their lives, shaping Steve’s belief that public service is a calling, not a career, and that elected leaders should live by the values they champion: faith, family, freedom, and responsibility.
Before serving in the Georgia House, Steve served as a Chickamauga City Councilman and School Board Member, where he built a record of listening first and delivering results. In 2014, he was elected to represent Georgia’s 2nd District, covering parts of Walker, Catoosa, and Whitfield counties.
In the State House, Steve has worked to help families prosper, keep laws aligned with our values, and ensure everyday Georgians have a voice. His faith guides him to do what is right, even when it is difficult, and to make decisions that strengthen homes and communities across Northwest Georgia.
